Last Friday, I cut the ribbon at the lunch time launch of Jack’s Kitchen, the new restaurant at the Holiday Inn in Long Ditton, at the invitation of the owners, Mr and Mrs Sampathkumar, and general manager Gagan Sharma. It was a fantastic occasion, and I wore a shawl and garland for my part in the opening (photo below). The new brasserie offers a delicious modern British and fusion menu, which I got to sample during my visit.
One of their new desserts, ‘Jack’s Creative Mess’, is so named because of their link with local charity Creative Youth, whose artists performed music at the launch. Creative Youth offers young people in the Kingston area artistic mentoring and strategic business supporting, to help the next generation of artists to flourish.
It was great to meet so many members of the community, and to see a local business raising funds and awareness to support a local charity. I wish the team at Jack’s Kitchen every success – and hope to return very soon!
