The Dylan Howells Foundation (DHF) was established in 2017 in memory of the late Dylan Howells. Dylan grew up in Molesey and Claygate including sixteen years living in Thames Ditton before passing away in 2016. He was a passionate and talented local sportsman who competed nationally and internationally in Triathlon and Aquathlon, becoming Welsh National Aquathlon champion in 2007.
The foundation was set up in his memory. It provides financial support (by way of grants) to sports clubs and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds in Surrey. It aims to boost participation in sport and encourage children and young adults to develop and progress in their chosen activity (regardless of ability), enjoy sport, fulfil ambitions and learn a range of skills including teamwork, communication and goal-setting.
To help raise funds, the DHF organises a range of pay to enter sporting events throughout the year. Their next event is being held on Sunday 14 July at the Old Cranleighan Club, Portsmouth Road, Thames Ditton, KT7 0HB. Participants can choose between a 4km and 2km run for all abilities, with a £3 per person entry fee. Registration is from 9am with the run starting at 10am.
This is a terrific local cause to support in the constituency. You can find out more information here.
