This morning, I joined BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme to respond to Sir Ivan Rogers’s (reported) comment that a UK-EU trade deal might take 5 to 10 years to finalise. I set out the case for a strong post-Brexit relationship with the EU on trade, security and other areas - something which might upset the gloomy pessimists, but which would be clearly both good for Britain and for the EU.
