It was a great privilege to present the Veterans Support Association with a £10,000 cheque from the National Lottery on Friday.
The VSA, led by John Joyce, does important work in Elmbridge to promote veterans’ wellbeing. This has been particularly important during lockdown, and the VSA was proactive in delivering activity packs to local veterans to help stave off loneliness and isolation. These included tool kits, models, photography kits and drawing equipment, and made a real difference to veterans during the restrictions.
Following the success of this project, the National Lottery funding will allow the VSA to continue delivering these packs this year. This is great news, and a testament to John’s hard work in looking out for and supporting local veterans.
