Reinforcing Critical Mineral Supply Chains at FCDO Questions

China put export restrictions on graphite – a key electric vehicle battery component. As we strive to move toward cleaner sources of energy, there is no escaping the growing rate of reliance on critical minerals.

Four out of ten of the top producers of graphite are commonwealth countries. So, I asked the Foreign Secretary if the government will pursue a partnership agreement on critical minerals with commonwealth countries, to help reinforce supply chains of these essential materials.
