Over £25m to maintain Surrey’s roads and repair potholes

It was good to hear that Surrey will benefit from £25.7m of government funding to maintain our local roads and repair potholes in 2021/22. This funding includes £9.3m from the second year of the £2.5bn Potholes Fund, which was announced in last year’s Budget.

This funding is good news for drivers and cyclists in Elmbridge and across Surrey. Potholes can be a real problem locally, damaging vehicles and causing injuries. This funding will allow Surrey County Council to repair potholes across Elmbridge, making a real difference to residents’ quality of life.

I encourage residents to report potholes and other road surface issues when you come across them. You can do this on Surrey County Council’s website, here.
