It was great to catch up with Samantha Moore recently to hear how our campaign to improve playgrounds in Molesey is going and see the new and improved big slide in Grovelands Rec. As a parent, I know how important playgrounds are for our children, so it is good to see Molesey playgrounds are starting to see the improvements local families deserve.
In July 2022, I reached an agreement with Elmbridge Borough Council to invest a share of £260,000 from the government funded UK Shared Prosperity Fund to upgrade West Molesey, Grovelands and Hurst Pool parks. This funding will be invested in new play equipment and help improve accessibility to the park for local children.
As this funding is ultimately allocated by Elmbridge Borough Council, I will be following up with them to make sure they are planning ahead to deliver the funds by April 2024 as agreed.
