It was a pleasure to meet with Surrey County Councillor, Rebecca Paul, the Deputy Cabinet Member for Levelling Up.
We discussed the importance of a County Deal for Surrey to help level up the pockets of deprivation across the county, which includes some key areas in Esher and Walton constituency. A County Deal will give Surrey County Council more control over local services, functions, and financing, enabling the council to achieve a better quality of life for Surrey residents and businesses, in the most effective and efficient ways.
Surrey County Council have raised some concerns regarding funding for adult social care in light of the cap on care costs. I will be feeding this back to Ministers to help ensure our vital social care reforms are properly funded in Surrey.
