The Mayor of London has confirmed that ULEZ will be expanded across all London boroughs from 29 August 2023. This means you could be charged £12.50 every time you drive across Hampton Court bridge into London.
I was disappointed to see the Lib Dems backing the Mayor’s tax on drivers at the London Assembly, with only the Conservatives voting against plans to expand ULEZ right up to the border of Esher and Walton constituency.
In Elmbridge, local Conservatives have continued to oppose ULEZ. While the Conservatives do not run Elmbridge Borough Council, Conservative councillors successfully put forward a motion to oppose ULEZ and will continue to campaign on this issue.
Conservative led Surrey County Council have formally objected to ULEZ plans and are awaiting clarity on several recommendations to help mitigate financial and environmental impacts of the expansion. This includes extending Zone 6, which I have been campaigning for across the whole of Esher and Walton constituency.
