Recently, I visited independent retailers along Walton High Street and Terrace Road to catch up post-pandemic and discuss local ambitions to improve the High Street and its links with the Heart Shopping Centre.
It was great to hear from local pubs, The George Inn and The Walton Village, how trade is picking up post-pandemic and the role our local pubs have played in screening the recent Women’s Euros competition.
More broadly, it was good to hear that footfall remains steady and our local independent retailers benefit from a loyal local customer base from Walton, Hersham and Molesey.
We have a vast range of fantastic retailers on our doorstep in Walton, from delicious coffee shops to florists and an angling centre. We need to support them as they bounce back from Covid.
