Today I visited St Alban’s Catholic Primary School in East Molesey. I talked to pupils during their assembly about my role as an MP locally and at Westminster. They asked about the work that I do for the government as Foreign Secretary, and we discussed how to protect the environment, both locally by protecting the greenbelt and nationally by reducing CO2 emissions.
I took questions on everything from climate change and foreign policy to Brexit and local housing. Afterwards, I had a chat separately with the school parliament.
St Alban’s is one of the most successful schools in Esher and Walton and that is down to the hard work and commitment of the headteacher, Mr Brannigan, and his team of brilliant teachers. I found the pupils were bright and curious - terrific credit to a great school.
